Imagine the thrill of canoeing or kayaking beautiful wilderness rivers and lakes in confidence, comfort, and safety. Canadian Canoe and Kayak Wilderness Adventures is a group of mature, highly skilled, experienced and certified professional instructors and guides. All have an enthusiastic love for outdoor adventure activities and many years of experience leading groups in these activities. Their mandate is to provide an exceptional and safe outdoor wilderness adventure experience that will not soon be forgotten. Learn the essentials of canoe or sea kayak paddling as well as wilderness camping techniques while traveling through such wilderness areas as Algonquin Park, the 30,000 Island group in Georgian Bay, Ontario, Johnstone Strait and the Bowron Lakes British Columbia, the Yukon River, Canada, Nahanni River, Tatshenshini River and the Burnside River in the N.W.T., Canada. These are all-inclusive three to 22 day wilderness canoeing trips. All you need to bring along is your clothes, toothbrush (personal items) and a sleeping bag!

What you can expect:

  • CRCA/ORCA certified instructors and guides to teach and improve your paddling skills and canoe handling.
  • Lightweight modern tripping canoes complete with paddles, life jackets (PFD's) and safety equipment.
  • Modern, lightweight tents and waterproof canoe packs for your gear.

What you will learn:

  • Proper and efficient paddling and boat handling techniques.
  • Safe and efficient ways of portaging the canoe.
  • Wilderness travel and camping techniques.
  • Basic map reading, compass and navigational skills.
  • How to plan a complete canoe trip, including where and how to find the best routes, maps, gear and check lists.
  • How to prepare float plans, route plans, and emergency plans.
  • How to pick and set up a good campsite for time of year, weather conditions, and group size.
  • Water purification techniques.
  • Menu planning and how to prepare and store food for wilderness travel.
  • Wilderness cooking and baking techniques.
  • What makes the best canoe design and materials for different types of trips.
  • What is the best gear for canoe packs, tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, stoves and cookware, tarps, saws and lighting.
  • What makes the best rain gear and clothing, how to stay warm, dry and comfortable as well as some of the best values in these areas.

30% deposit required to hold bookings with balance due 30 days prior to trip departure.

   Cancellation Policy


Cancellation prior to 30 days of trip departure is 50% of deposit and all balance payments already made. No refunds for cancellations less than 30 days of trip departure.
